Some people collect stamps, buttons, or pennies. I collect something a little different. I collect makeup. Or maybe I hoard it. To be honest, I’m still not sure. All I know is that I have a ton of makeup. Whatever, at least I’m admitting to it.
There are always new makeup products being released. Of course, I have to get my hands on them. What ends up happening is that I use the new makeup I bought, and I forget about the old. This is basically a cycle that happens all the time. It really needs to stop, especially after I paid attention to what’s on the back of my makeup products. I was shocked. Keep on reading to find out what it is.
Because one highlight palette is never enough.
There’s no better feeling than opening up new makeup products. Am I right? Your new babies finally have a home.
Hold up! Before you beat your face, I want you to check something.
Recognize this symbol?
Take a look at the back of your makeup product, and you will find a symbol like this. I’m sure you have seen it before, but what does it mean? Well, it’s time to stop ignoring it!
Look at this lipstick
This open jar symbol has a number, followed by the letter “M”. The number shows how many months this product is good for. Once you open your product, you have that many months to use it before it goes bad.
Is your mind blown? I know mine is. Some of my makeup dates back to three years ago. Uh-oh.
If you continue to use a product past its expiration date, it’s possible to get an infection. I’m definitely throwing out a lot of makeup tonight.
Even hair care products have this symbol, too. Wait, hair care products expire? Nothing makes sense anymore.
Take A Look
I’m going to have to go through a lot of makeup tonight. Also, before opening something new, I’m going to finish what I already own. Seems like a smart idea.
Keep It In Mind
When I open up a new product, I’m going to start writing the date on it. So smart.
Don’t forget to clean your brushes, too. They might have expired makeup on them. I know that cleaning makeup brushes is kind of a hassle, but seriously, there is tons of bacteria on dirty brushes.
After checking out the dates, you can now relax and slay your face. Have fun!
